So Michelle and I have been living at some friends of ours house for about 7 to 8 months now trying to pay off some debts and get "ahead" so that we can maybe buy a house soon. At least that is the plan, until a certain somebody (not going to name any names but he was driving her car) decided to accidentally fall asleep behind the wheel while driving home from work after a 12 hour shift at the hospital and this is what happened...
I owe Michelle a new car now. We just heard from the insurance people that the car is not repairable and they are going to have to total the car. Yes we were going to replace the car sooner or later but it was running fine and would have lasted us a few more years. It was just the driver that was not running fine. For those that are wondering, I am fine and no one was hurt. The other car was a Jeep Wrangler and my car went under the car. This is not a good way to start the new year. Let's hope that this is not a sign of things to come.
Sheesh!

Don't say never. It is just in the lord's time, not ours. We are always learning. It took us 4 years to get out of the red. Now we manage our money better, as the saying goes "buy only what you need."
Thank heavens you are fine! That is scary that fell asleep! Although frustrating about the loss, consider yourself plenty blessed!
Glad you're ok. That sucks about the car. But it can only get better from here, right!?? We're not having the best year so far either if it makes you feel better :)
Oh no! I remember feeling the same way when we had to use our savings to live on when Conrad lost his job. But then I realized that we were blessed to have saved that money in the first place so we could keep going until Conrad got a job. Hopefully things will start looking up soon!
I'm glad you fine. Things will get better.
Oh, my heart aches for you. It's never fun to get in a car accident regardless of your financial situation. I'm grateful that you are okay and that Michelle looks to be doing better with her condition. Those are great blessings.
That is such a bummer!
