Can she really be doing this?

I mentioned before that Tava communicates pretty good, well about two weeks ago she started telling us that she was stinky(meaning her diaper) and so I would check her diaper and it was clean and then a few minutes later she would be stinky. So, I thought maybe I could start taking her to the bathroom and go potty on the toilet when she would tell me she is stinky. I asked my Mom if it would be to early to start Tava going potty on the toilet and she said she had a friend whose baby went potty on the toilet at an early age, so she said it wouldn't hurt.

Well, Mark and I bought her a toilet seat. In the back on my mind I'm thinking it probably won't work but who knows Tava might surprise us. Surprise us she has, yesterday she pooped twice on the toilet and today because of church she pooped once. We are so proud of our little almost 17 month old girl. Maybe she might be potty trained by the time she is 2. I'm not going to push anything, but it sure is nice to not have to change a poopy diaper. Now we just have to get her to pee on the toilet.

Way to go Tava!! It is so nice to have them trained. Shaylee was potty trained just after she turned 2 and it was great. Keep up the good work!! I am in Plano for a few more days. We need to get together for a visit.

WOOHOO yeah!! I think you've totally got the right idea. Don't push it, but hey, if she wants to...that's a few less poopie diapers you have to change!! (and after today, that is making me way jealous. We tried with Anna and she just didn't seem to have the bladder control, so we are putting it off until later)

It happens! Good luck with that. I may get lucky with Patrick simply because Rebekah's currently doing it. But he doesn't have near the communication skills that Tava does. So cool!
