Sleeping and Driving

As most of you know I work the 7p - 7a shift at the hospital so I am usually really tired coming home but can make it home with only scaring a couple of people on the road and in the end getting home safely with no incidents. Well, this last Tuesday, Michelle and I just got back from Washington at 2:45 and then I had to get dressed and then go to school at 4 then to work after that. So now we are looking at jet lag plus a 12 hour shift of working plus 4 1/2 hours of school then drive home the next morning as usual. About 4:30 AM, I went to my charge nurse and said that if possible I would like to go home because I was getting tired. She let me go because there was nothing else going on at the time. Needless to say I was really tired and luckily there was no one one the road at the time because I was all over. I did pretty good for the most part and stayed in 2 lanes until I got about 1 mile from home and the next thing that I remembered was hearing a loud BANG looking back and seeing a dust pile from the curb hitting my passenger tires and bending the rims on that side. (Sorry, there are no before pictures of the damage)

These are of the fixed rims before I had to put new caps on them.

These are the nice new rim covers that we got. Now we're stylin'.

Moral of the Story, get the day off of work the day after the trip for some recouperation time. It is not worth it.

I can't believe that! I'm so sorry that happened! However, the new rims look great! We're glad nothing more serious happened. We love you guys.

when are you going to learn how to drive??? Next time try sunflower seeds or corn nuts, good job on making lemonade with the new rims.

Yicks, I always worry about Jeff falling asleep at the wheel. I'm glad it was not to bad! Last year my husband was kind of like you, too much to do in one day. He tought seminary, worked full time, school full time, plus having Evan, oh and running a marathon. You boys are both crazy! Luckly life is not as crazy now. There is a end in sight and it really is worth it.
